Changes to the Collection Titles due to Dragon Nest R

DragonNestR

Out of curiosity, I checked out the Dragon Nest R patch in Dragon Nest SEA which increased the level cap to lv 90. And I immediately realized that with such a huge overhaul, there are going to be so much changes to Collection Titles.

I am actually pretty glad that I stopped updating the guides, because I would have to undo so much of my previous work that I may actually roll into a ball and weep.

Too Long; Don’t Read version :  Due to MASSIVE Nest and Dungeon changes, some missions and title collections have been removed. Some title collections that remain have been drastically changed. So, my Collection Title Masterlist and Guides are going to be VERY inaccurate starting from this patch onwards.

If you want to know more, here’s the important bits from the patch details if you’re a title collector or mission completionist.

Bye, Dragon Nest SEA. Hello again FFXIV: ARR.

As mentioned in the Collection Titles Masterlist, I have stopped playing Dragon Nest SEA since the start of the year and am unlikely to pick it up again for a while, especially since I’m now totally absorbed in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

There are quite a number of reasons for this, and I would rather not get into details with them all. Except that a friend whom I befriended because of DN once commented amidst a discussion that Dragon Nest is not the type of game for me. I was a little offended then, but now, I realize that he is right.

I am a casual player who plays only within a small social circle, a quester, explorer and a collector. I can’t care less about bragging rights, squeezing out the most damage or playing the best DPS class. DN’s gameplay is exciting and different from MMOs I used to play, and that attracted me. However, it lacked far too many things that I need in order to enjoy myself thoroughly. And all that, I found in FFXIV:ARR.

TL:DR version: I have found a game that suits me better, so its world is where I have gone and will be staying for a long time.

As such, I will not be making new Collection Title guides or updating the existing ones. I may still share any interesting stuff related to Dragon Nest that I come across, but probably not a lot of those either.

Those interested in playing with me in FFXIV, come find me~! I’m playing in Hades server (JP), and my character’s name is Selceriar Lunaxiel. πŸ™‚Β  γ‚ˆγ‚γ—γγŠι‘˜γ„γ—γΎγ™οΌ

Guess who made an Assassin in Dragon Nest?

Fuwamaru-chan

How can I resist when his Japanese voice actor is none other than my favorite seiyuu, Midorikawa Hikaru? :3 Incidentally, I just named him at random and then discovered that his name “Fuwamaru” is a snack featuring a ninja in Japan. Weird sort of fate huh?

I promised an update to the Title Collection Book a while back and I apologize for still not updating yet. >_< Life has been busy, and other entertainment and games have captured what little time and attention I had to spare. I can say though, that we the raise of the level cap and a new class, I now have more reason to come back and play DN. πŸ˜€ So yeah, watch for more updates~

Tip for “Rule Abiding Title” in DN SEA

Just sharing a link first before I misplace it again. It’s a valuable tip for all title hunters. πŸ˜€

Collection Title Event?! OMG!

I was wondering why my web traffic spiked by a few hundreds recently, then I saw today that there’s a new event for Dragon Nest SEA and it requires unlocking Collection Titles!

Dragon Nest SEA – [Event] Title Delights!

Firstly, I haven’t update the Masterlist since the update. >_<; I’m sorry about that, especially to those who are looking for information for the Ultimate and Biological titles. Work and my personal life has kept me way too busy. I hereby promise, I’ll post about the new Collection Titles in these few days. πŸ™‚

Secondly, I noticed one of the updates in the October patch makes things much easier for Collection Title hunters:

All Calderock Village and Saint Haven’s [Abyss] dungeon mission can now be unlocked by entering the world zone (for example: Gray Ruins). Players no longer need to obtain or complete quests from Heraldry Scholar NPCs to unlock the achievements.

This essentially means that it is no longer necessary to complete the Secret of the Abyss, Birth of the Abyss quests! This is good news! It also means I need to update the title collection guides. ;_;

Holy cow, so many new Collection Titles!

And Achievement window UI renovation! Auto-roll NO! So many nice improvements!

I’m in heaven!!! <3

For the people I have made very confused, I’m talking about Dragon Nest SEA’s new patch “A Blast To The Past Of Your Dragon Nest Adventure Game Patch“. AlthoughΒ I was inactive for a while because the new content wasn’t at all appealing to me and guild more or less mass-migrated to FFXIV (which I’ll be starting next month), the new updates caught my eyes.

Dragon Fellowship and Deceptive Stronghold sounds interesting, though the one update I’m looking forward to is the monopoly like Exploration thing. More importantly, collection titles update. *-* The collector soul in me is so excited right now. Can’t wait to check it out ingame later.

Talking Pets arrived in DN SEA!

Pets Say The Darndest Things

After the latest patch (the one that added Typhoon Kim Nest and Professor K Nest hell mode), us lucky pet owners now have talking pets! Check out the link to a forum topic where members of the community posted so many screenshots of their pets saying stuff.

My hound is a violent little thing that wants to *CRACK* monsters sometimes, and thinks of food a lot.

DN SEA, Collection Titles Guide (part 4) ”Detective”

A new Collection Title! Title Collection Book has a new look! A dedicated section in Achievements windows! So much love for us title collectors this patch! <3 Needless to say this is my favorite part of the Kali patch. <3

(… okay, one of my few favorite parts. There are other things I like too, like the updates to Guardian Force…. But that’s not the focus now!)

Firstly, the new title!

I’m really undecided about dedicating time and efforts into a Kali character. Not that it’s a bad class, I personally really like Dark Summoner… but my poor Majesty just got to level 50 (yes I’m that much of a slowpoke) and I still have so much to do with her (like raids, PVP or ladder…)

πŸ™ Decisions decisions.

Playing DN with PS3 controller

Just because I can doesn’t mean I should. My 2nd experience of trying to play DN with the Playstation Dualshock 3 controller is very interesting, but I’ll stick with keyboard and mouse.

The movement is better than during my 1st experience, probably due to different driver/software used. Still, the dungeon run is as disastrous as before. Maybe I need more practice. But I think I’ll drown in my own frustrations first.

Camera rotation is one speed only, so that’s problem number 1. The amount of skills slots means combination keys have to be used (for example L1 + Square button) so trying to fire off the right skill while moving out of harm’s way is problem number 2.

Good thing I’m use a Majesty. My sister was telling me how it would be quite complicated trying to get it working with an Acrobat.

Point of the experiment was, I could get it to work. But I wouldn’t play DN with a controller unless I am able to get round the above problems.

For those interested, this is the method that I used to get PS3 controller working with my computer (yes it is primarily for emulators, shhh). I tried Motion In Joy before but the uninstalling part gave me headaches.

DN SEA, A bit about missing collection titles

I saw some comments about having 100% completion for the collection titles but they are not appearing. The possible solution, according to some replies, is to try change character or relog, and the titles will appear. Hope that helps.

PS. I saw somewhere that the Korean DN server is going to get more collection titles! How exciting!

DN SEA forumers discussing Nest elements

Cherry Credits forum topic: ‘Nest’

Gotta love those trolls at the Cherry Credits forum. I nearly drenched my screen with coffee when I read Yohaku’s post.
