Meet Shizuyue Meruri. She’s me, but also not me!
Meruri is my virtual livestreamer / Youtuber avatar (Vtuber). Although I previously streamed as myself with camera on Twitch, I now stream as Meruri in her own Youtube channel.
Why Meruri?
I was streaming on Twitch, but took a break when I had my child. During the break, I reconsidered continuing to stream with myself on the webcam and decided against it. Thus I needed an avatar. And so, Meruri was born.
What is Meruri?
A very chill Mum, Lunar Rabbit Vtuber, who part-times as a Contract Spirit and plays a variety of games.
Introduction Lore
When asked, Meruri will simply say she is a Lunar Rabbit contract spirit. She travels across realms to find Fated Ones to make contracts with, all in order to find the fragments of the lost Divine Treasure of her home.
After an incident that left her realm-traveling powers sealed and spiritual energy depleted, she settled down and found love. And had a baby.
Still, her mission is something that never leaves her mind, so she searched for ways to regain her abilities. She found that through experiencing stories, her powers recover bit by tiny bit. And by making friends with people, she slowly recharges her spiritual energy.
And that is how Meruri became a game streamer.
Not Lore
Meruri is using 3D models made using VRoid Studio. I’m mostly using VNyan and XR Animator for the face tracking (previous I used VSeeface) and OBS to broadcast the livestream.
Sometimes, Meruri appears in bunny form as a pngtuber, software used is Veadotube Mini.
So, what does Meruri do?
Meruri plays games! FFXIV is the permanent MMO fixture so it will make an appearance often but there are a few big titles that Meruri is excited to play and complete.
Arknights and Honkai Star Rail are my long-term gacha games that I took a break from, but has since return to them.
Meruri also does Co-Working streams (previously on YouTube, now on Twitch), when there is work to be done.
I’m inclined towards making my own graphic and other assets, so there are bound to be some creative leaning streams as well.
