FFBE: War of the Visions (JP) upgrade systems quick reference

*Update on 1 Aug 2020:
I have actually stopped playing FFBE: WOTV a while back, before the Global version was released. I do not intend to edit the guide for the Global version nor update it to include newer things, but I think I’ll at least get the images up fully within the next few weeks.

This post is a quick reference mostly for myself because I struggle to remember where to get the different types of materials.

Names of the materials are kinda directly translated, I don’t know what their actual English names are or what other guides/wikis are using.

If you’re looking for an English guide, there’s this one:

*deep breath* Alright, here goes.

How to save FFXV snapshots to PS4 Capture Gallery

Although the Day 1 “Crown Update” added the ability to share the Snapshots that Prompto took to our social media, there’s no way I’m going to share all 150 (and counting) snapshots to Facebook in one-go.

So when I was going between actually doing that and taking screenshots of the snapshots, I realized that if you do the following, you can save a copy of a snapshot to Capture Gallery without it going to your Social Media:

  1. Navigate to the snapshot you want to save
  2. Press the “Share” button
  3. Select “Yes” for the confirmation of “Share this photo?”
  4. Wait for the PS4’s Share Screenshot interface appear (just appear, you don’t have to wait for it to finish loading)
  5. Press the “Back” button
  6. That’s it! There should be a copy of the snapshot in your Capture Gallery’s FFXV folder

I’ve done this to save all the snapshots to PS4 and then delete them from the ingame album so I have more space for Prompto’s better photos (he takes a lot of crappy ones). I also did this to save snapshots before I load a save, because there are some photos that won’t be taken even if you run the exact same thing.

Remember to check your Capture Gallery to make sure you have the photo there before deleting the ingame one! Happy photographing!

FFXIV: ARR Heavensward Astrologian Wallpaper -modified-

With the Heavensward expansion coming soon, I’ve been switching to use the officially released wallpapers. When the ones with the concept art of the three new jobs “Dark Knight”, “Astrologian” and “Machinist” were released, I was disappointed to find that they had a nice plain almost white background because I can’t stand bright backgrounds. 🙁

So I made my own modification to the Astrologian wallpaper, since it’s the one job I want to try the most.

I could have gone with a simple one color background to just make it darker, but I remember downloading a nice background that I found some time ago. So I combined the two.

The stars in the background are pretty fitting, aren’t they? And here’s the result!

While it is not the most balanced of pieces, I don’t think I did too badly for my purpose. Oh, the super dark bottom edge is deliberate, because my Windows Taskbar has transparency and any words showing through the tabs always disorientates me.

If you like any of the above, click on the images to get the original 1920×1080 wallpapers. 🙂

Travel to Ul’dah FREE via Gold Saucer

Did you know? If you take the Airship from Gridania or Limsa Lominsa (*update* or Ishgard too) to Gold Saucer, then take the Airship from Gold Saucer to Ul’dah, not a single gil will be spent?

I was so happy when I discovered it since I’m the sort who prefers to spend as little money as possible on travelling. And I visit the Gold Saucer everyday anyway to buy the Mini Cactpot Ticket, or play a few rounds of Triple Triad on weeks when the Tournament is ongoing, so it’s like a free airship ride with a quick transit stop at the fancy casino. 😀

FF XIII (Jap) on 17th December 09!

In this Kotaku article, the official release date for the Japanese version has been confirmed on 17th December. The price is also confirmed and after converting to SGD and add in import fee… ouch, it’s expensive. But it’s expected. The English version will be next year though, so we are in a bit of a dilemma. To get the Jap version early and struggle with the language, or wait and pray the voice actors are good. Probably the Jap version.

Can’t wait to see this new trailer that was mentioned! For more on the FF XII Premiere Party, check it out in Kotaku.

Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds!

Okay, it happened a few days ago (22th May 2009) but I went to the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds Orchestra Concert! It was teh love! I have always had a weakness for full blown orchestra pieces, and now that the pieces are some of my favorite game soundtrack, I don’t think I’ll forget this ever. Even with my crappy memory.

Drooling @ FFXIII Agito video

Found this video while randomly browsing Joystiq. It’s a pretty cool trailer, nice video style. Square Enix is good at making pretty looking videos. And also at reinventing hoods as the new capes and cards as the new swords (Kingdom Hearts, anyone?). Gosh I can’t wait for it to come, and it’s going to be a long wait, according to this news.
