It isn’t much to say that I have been waiting for months for this release. But it couldn’t have come at a better time for me.
Out of the few major features of this newest version, I have been playing mainly with the multi-site functionality. It is exactly what I was looking for since a while ago, when I found myself updating the same few plugins over and over again in three/four sites, and it took a lot less steps to ‘activate’ than I expected. I can migrate my sites into their new home once I get it all planned out properly.
I am probably also going to work with custom posts and taxonomies as well, probably for Lunadream and Drache, though that will come after I am done migrating the sites. There’s so much stuff I can do for those two sites, with the new functions in place. Drache will likely get a new look. I’m still scouting out the new themes suitable for it. I’m so excited!
I’m not very fond of the lighter admin scheme, and is using Userstyle to change a few things so I’m not as bothered by it. The new theme Twenty Ten is cool, and probably will help much when I’m twiddling with themes, but I don’t see myself using it much. The new menu editor, bulk upgrading of plugins and upgrading of themes are very much welcomed. They make things so much more convenient.
I’m loving WordPress 3.0 so far. It’s
