Playing: Neko Atsume

Just started playing this relaxing little Japanese Android game called “Neko Atsume (ねこあつめ)”, where you play as a cat lover who can’t have a kitty of your own, so you set out food and toys to attract the neighborhood cats to come in and play.

Look at that adorable little idiot who stuffed itself into the cake box! xD

If you’re interested in the game, there is an English guide for it, 繁体中文的下载教学 和 游戏教学.

*Update* It seems to be available for most regions on the Google Play store now! 🙂

Notes to self about Playstation 3 backup restore

So my precious first generation 60GB backward-compatible Playstation 3 got its second YLOD (Yellow Light of Doom) a few days ago and it looks like it’s dying for good. It gave us the YLOD  for the first time around less than a month ago, and we managed to revive it using this solder reflow method but it is only a temporary fix. Everything I read on the net says that even if a PS3 that has YLOD has been fixed with the better fix of solder reballing, it’s still just on life support and the second YLOD just confirmed it.

So I’m now looking for a new PS3 to replace the dying/dead one, and also searching for the best methods to get my game data and save files from the old one to the new one (especially the save data, since I don’t have Playstation Plus). There’s a few things I noticed when researching, and this blog post is actually my notes to self to see things more clearly and list the things I should do or note later.

Of course, if this posts helps more people than just me, it’s a pleasant bonus.

* Note, I don’t have those rental videos and copy-righted video downloads so there’s a lot lesser things I need to pay attention to. If you have those, read the articles/posts/guides I linked to and take note. Best to google and get your own confirmation.

Dice Adventure has ended….

I posted about this some time back, and now the Tales of the World: Dice Adventure service has officially ended. 🙁 I’m a sad panda now.

I didn’t manage to collect all the available characters via Infinite Colosseum event (in most part because I couldn’t afford time spent distracted on playing this, although it had stress relief purposes), but I did take a batch of screenshots of my favorite characters that I collected.

Think I should share them next time?

Funny thing from Avatar Star forum

Avatar Star Avatars With Bad Attitudes

So I was trying out the CBT2  for the new game from Cherry Credits, a cute chibi-form 3rd person shooter called ‘Avatar Star’, and had a problem which prompted me to check the Technical Issue forum of the game.

That’s where I spotted this gem of a topic. xD

On the same topic, I have some extra CBT2 keys.

Drop me a comment if you do take one of them! ^^

No more Tales Dice Adventure

Service end for Tales of the World: Dice Adventure

I’m a sad panda now. 🙁 I never really explored all of its content (I didn’t do Colosseum or PVP at all) but I did set my parties to do quests on a pretty regular basis for a while back (because my work got too busy).

Ah well, the end date is on 28th June 2013 midnight, Japan time, so I can still play this for around 2 months or so.

Just so sad to see another game I play end service.

Tales of the World: Dice Adventure

I’m hopelessly addicted to this game right now, haha. Decided to try it because the pre-order bonus in my copy of Tales of Xillia 2 gives a SR rank Ludger for this game. Considering so many of the Tales social games are unavailable to me, of course I leaped at the chance to play this one.

Tales of the World: Dice Adventure is a web-based social game that’s kinda like monopoly and kinda like snakes & ladders, where you get to collect characters from the many Tales series to form parties and do quests and stuff.

It’s sadly only in Japanese. Luckily my basics are still pretty alright.

The best part about it is:

  1. Collecting Tales characters. <3
  2. You can join or start a quest room and leave it there to auto play for you if you don’t have the time to sit there and toss the dice. No auto using of recovery items though, sadly.
  3. I can play on my smartphone just by accessing the website on it. It has a web interface that is simpler and faster than the desktop’s flash one. But you can’t look at the cute characters doing their short chat skits and battles.
  4. I can start a Quest, then go and do Dice Tower while the quest is in progress. Yay for multi-tasking!

PS. Because TotW: Dice Adventure is linked to the Banafes! Town (my character/avatar is the Banafest! Town avatar), I also started playing that. *facepalms*

MouseHunt Onyx Mallet and ACRONYM cheatsheet

My sister has the awesomely named ACRONYM trap so I was wondering how to get it. I was so glad to find out that I could start collecting ingredients for the ACRONYM trap, namely the Onyx Stone, in the Dojo where I was hunting. Then I realize how complicated the process is for getting an Onyx Stone. And that there’s another trap that needs it, the Onyx Mallet.

MouseHunt Ambush Trap cheatsheet

MouseHunt Ambush TrapI’m at the stage in MouseHunt where I am collecting materials to make Ambush Trap through the guidance of the walkthrough on MouseHunt Wiki (because I would still be in Town of Digby otherwise).

It seems I’m not very good at piecing information together because I needed my sister to explain how exactly do I go about crafting the Ambush Trap. Oh boy, this is one complicated process (at least to me).
